We're a team of three building a platform where anyone can turn their knowledge into an AI version of themselves, a Callable persona that someone can call anytime.
Think of us as YouTube, but instead of passively watching, you actually talk to mind of the creators.
It started with a robot
Before Callable, we built Captcha — a humanoid social robot.
From 2021 to 2024, we poured everything into making Captcha talk (trash) with the lowest latency of any real-time conversation engines (offline!), even taking it to the UN’s AI for Good Summit.
Along the way, we met a lot of smart and talented people, and realized something: these people are knowledge-rich but time-poor, and others are desperate to access their knowledge.
We thought: what if the voice tech we built for a robot could solve this problem for people?
From robot voice to human voice
What if you could clone your voice, upload your knowledge, and let people call you? We’re democratizing access to expertise the way YouTube democratized video—but for real, interactive conversations.
That's how Callable was born.
(Steve Jobs had a similar vision way back in 1985, talking to Aristotle's mind in realtime.)
What we actually believe
1. Your knowledge is the new capital
In the AI age, being human is the differentiator.
Your unique life experience and hard-won opinions are what’s valuable, something that general-purpose chatbots cannot give.
2. Let's be clear about what Callable is NOT.
We're not a platform for fictional AI characters or celebrity chatbots. We don't do roleplay. Every Callable on our platform is grounded in a real person's actual knowledge, verified through our authenticity system.
We respect the intellectual property and identity of our creators.
And Unlike ChatGPT, which gives you the averaged version of the internet, Callable gives you a specific, opinionated human perspective that forces you to think.
3. Conversation > Texting
When you vocalize a problem, you understand it better.
Our vision is to replace one-directional content (like podcasts) with actual mentorship. Don’t just listen to an episode; talk to the creator about your specific situation as many times as you need.
We built this for ourselves first
Here's the honest truth: Callable started as a tool we wanted to use.
We had coaches and mentors whose brains we wanted to pick more often — about challenges we were facing, decisions we were making, perspectives we hadn't considered. But calendars don't scale. And neither do email threads.
So we built something that could give us that experience on demand. Not based on random internet probabilities or Reddit-scraped training data, but grounded in the actual thinking of the specific people we wanted to learn from.
Turns out, a lot of other people wanted the same thing.
TL;DR
We started by building a humanoid robot and accidentally created world-class voice tech. We realized the biggest gap in knowledge isn't information—it's conversation. So we built Callable: a platform where you can turn your unique experience into an interactive AI persona. No fictional characters, no generic bots. Just real human perspectives, made call-able.
